Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are proud to announce Mika Rezac has been hired as a new regional representative in Kansas. In her new role, she will provide support for volunteers across the east central portion of the state, representing many dedicated members and volunteers. Rezac will collaborate with volunteer chapters to improve public and private lands conservation efforts for pheasants, quail and other wildlife.
“I’m confident Mika will thrive in this position with her love for the outdoors,” said Jerry McDonald, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s director of chapter and volunteer services. “She brings to our team and her region a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and adaptability to new challenges.”
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever empower county and local chapters with the responsibility to determine how 100 percent of their locally raised conservation funds will be spent - the only national conservation organization that operates through this grassroots structure. As a result, chapter volunteers can see the fruits of their efforts locally, while belonging to a larger national organization with a voice on federal and state conservation policy. Rezac will help guide local chapters to achieve the organization’s mission in Kansas.
Rezac graduated from Texas A&M University with a BA in communications and public relations in 2003, and in 2011 she received a master’s in education. Before joining the Habitat Organization, she worked as a real estate agent out of Manhattan, Kansas, after leaving her position as a 4th grade teacher in 2020. Rezac is an avid upland hunter who trains her own English setters, while her husband, DJ, trains British labradors. Mika, DJ and their son, “Mac”, live on a farm in Jackson County, Kansas.
“I understand how invaluable collaboration and effective communication is to build support for wildlife preservation initiatives,” Rezac said. “I’m excited to utilize my skills when engaging with local communities in east central Kansas, and to dedicate myself to the Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever mission.”
