Five Question Friday: Scott Brummond

Five Question Friday with Scott Brummond, Nebraska QF & PF State Council President
QF: When you want a good, home cooked meal, you go ______
SB: Well, I usually stay home and cook it myself. Can't beat a good 1" thick corned beef steak on the grill, fresh baked potatoes out of the garden, fresh sweet corn on the cob, and my favorite beverage. That is, if I haven't had too many while grilling. It gets hard to dig those potatoes during pheasant season, though.
QF: If you put together a music mix, your top three songs would be...?
SB: Don't have many favorites, just a lot I like listening to...Elton John - "Tiny Dancer," Tim McGraw - "BBQ Stain," and Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Sweet Home Alabama."
QF: The best gun you've ever owned was a _____
SB: I've only owned two; the 20 gauge break open Stevens single shot I learned with, and my 1187 Remington I still use. I still swear that I was a better shot with the single shot. Didn't have the temptation to just keep pulling the trigger and letting the birds fly into the shot patterns. I always wanted an over and under, but I really don't want to miss an opportunity for a triple. I've had three or four in my life and it's sure fun bragging about those rare times the birds and my aim are in alignment.
QF: #1 USC 49, Nebraska 31...What the heck happened?
SB: USC is just a cut or two above Nebraska in the talent department. Coach Bill Callahan did open up the playbook more than the previous week against Wake Forest, but not near enough. What happened to Nebraska's high powered running game? MIA. As was the defense. I hunted grouse all day in the Nebraska Sandhills walking over ten miles up and down those small mountains and I still could have run or walked untouched through the holes the USC offensive line was providing. Back to reality: Nebraska does have a good team and should end up higher in the rankings than the previous few years.
QF: Maybe Husker fans should jump on the volleyball bandwagon (currently ranked #1)...?
SB: Yea, How bout them Husker Gals!! I have three daughters that played at the high school level and enjoyed the game. So I do enjoy following the level of expertise the Husker Lady Volleyball team seems to bring to the table every year. I got two of the three girls to even enjoy hunting and wildlife.
