Five Question Friday: Bill White

Five Question Friday with Bill White, treasurer of the Osage Chapter of QF in Missouri.

QF: Your scariest experience in the wilderness was...?

BW: On a canoe trip to the Canadian Quetico Provincial Wilderness Park in 2004 with my son. We dumped the canoe in a pretty wild river and the current would not let us get to shore for what seemed like an eternity. It was late May and the water freezing.......luckily it happened below the falls and we are still alive!!!! But I was wondering for a while if we were going to make it.

QF: Kansas City Chiefs, or St. Louis Rams...?

BW: Pro football? Ha....I am a Husker football fan til I die........even though they abandoned the Devaney-Osborn tradition of winning.......for the time being.

QF: You can't stand it when people _____?

BW: Are in a crowded store, so caught up in their own little world, and they stop suddenly or block the aisle with a cart or not watch where they are pushing a cart........not caring or aware that they are holding everyone else up............oblivious to everyone else in the store evidently........there, got that off my chest!

QF: You wish _____ never went out of style? BW: White bow ties of course!! My high school senior picture was with a white bow tie.....those were the days....balloon sleeved shirts and plaid bell bottoms........wish I could grow the hair I had back then!!

QF: What's your lucky charm...?

BW: Probably would not call it a lucky charm, but I carry a little crucifix in my pocket to help me get through the trying times........like when somebody in a crowded store tries to run me down with their shopping cart!!
