Five Question Friday

At Quail Forever, we're extremely proud of all the work our members do when it comes to habitat improvements and youth education, and we want you to get to know these exceptional conservationists even better. Five Question Friday is our new feature that tells us a little bit more about who our members are - their involvement with QF, hunting, family life, pop culture - anything goes! Be sure to check back every Friday for a new QF member profile!

Five Question Friday with Shannon Hansel, habitat specialist with Habitat Forever.

QF: A trip to Iowa must include a stop where?

SH: A trip to Iowa must include a stop at the Iowa State Fair. It is #6 on the nation's things to see list.

QF: What separates southeast Iowa from the rest of the state?

SH: I-80 and I-35. All of Iowa and the people are great and I recommend visiting all parts of the state.

QF: Iowa is renowned for its "Monster Bucks." What's the biggest you've seen?

SH: I've seen a lot of monster bucks hunting (they're all still walking as far as I know). Biggest I've seen and know stats on is a 25" inside spread 12-pointer. It looked like Bullwinkle.

QF: Your favorite Iowan is _____?

SH: I don't have a specific Iowan that is my favorite but I have to give mad props to the Iowa DNR for giving us great opportunities to hunt even if you do not have access to private ground.

QF: Iowa's least favorite neighbors are?

SH: It's got to be Wisconsin because they are home to the Badgers. Go Hawkeyes!
