St. Paul, Minn. - March 08 -

Quail Forever (QF) and Pheasants Forever (PF) are proud to announce the organization’s FOREVER Shooting Sports “Adopt-A-Team” partnership between PF/QF chapters and their local youth scholastic or club shooting teams has raised over $2.4 million for the teams’ MidwayUSA Foundation endowment trusts.

Through this unique partnership, which was started in February of 2012, a PF or QF chapter and youth competitive shooting team partner to raise funds either through raffles, donations or fundraisers. Funds raised are contributed to the team’s MidwayUSA Foundation endowment trust. Established in each team's name, the team is able to use the interest from its endowment trust to help achieve sustainable, comprehensive funding for shooting sports programs. Chapters participating in the program adopted 402 youth scholastic or club shooting teams from across the country, supporting 23,316 youth involved in the outdoors and shooting sports.

“This was an outstanding success made possible by the chapters and teams that worked together to accomplish this triumph for the future of shooting sports programs,” says John Linquist, Pheasants Forever's FOREVER Shooting Sports coordinator. “These teams now have a financial blanket that can be used for supplies, travel and other day-to-day expenses incurred through competition. None of this would have been possible without the unyielding generosity of Larry and Brenda Potterfield of MidwayUSA, whose belief in the youth of today will pay dividends for future outdoorspeople.”

Pheasants Forever's FOREVER Shooting Sports program utilizes research-based recruitment and retention strategies to introduce up to 20,000 individuals annually to shooting sports through a variety of community-based programs and events.

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever chapters hold more than 1,000 youth events annually, introducing over 45,000 youth to the outdoors and shooting sports. For more information, please contact John Linquist at (712) 754-3221 or Email John.
