Walk in with a few questions and the ability to find your land on an online satellite image, and walk out with a comprehensive wildlife management plan.

That’s the idea behind the Landowner Help Desk at National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic. It’s annually one of the show’s most popular stops. Services at the desk are free. You meet directly with a professional Pheasants Forever biologist.

It doesn’t matter if you own and manage 10 acres, 100 or 10,000: This free resource is available for the 16th year running at National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic, to be held February 14-16 2020 at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Habitat Help Desk is dedicated to helping farmers and landowners meet their conservation and habitat goals on their property. Landowners can consult with trained wildlife biologists to gain insights into management activities, as well as what local, state and federal voluntary conservation programs may be available for their property.

Additionally, there will be other opportunities to learn more about soil health, habitat management, precision agriculture and conservation. Valuable take-home information will be available.

Stop by for an opportunity to see firsthand the importance of habitat diversity and management through virtual reality, a ground level view of how different habitat types function.

“There is always demand for these free services at the show,” says Ron Leathers, director of public finance for Pheasants Forever and a wildlife biologist. “We’re inviting landowners to the show and hoping they take advantage of the help and ideas we’re offering.”

HOW TO RECEIVE YOUR PERSONALIZED CONSERVATION PLAN

*Bring the legal description of your property (township, range and section), or simply be able to pinpoint your property’s exact location on a map.

*Sit down with a trained biologist from Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever to review your property and find out what financial and technical assistance programs may be available to help you accomplish your goals.

*Leave with the insights and knowledge, along with a free plan, to help tackle your own personal conservation and habitat mission.

The Landowner Help Desk is open all three days during show hours: 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday February 14; 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Saturday February 15; and 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Sunday February 16.
