24/7 Travel Stores commit to another season of support for upland habitat and hunting heritage

The familiar red-white-and-blue signs serve as friendly pitstop beacons as I cross Kansas on my annual excursions to find colorful roosters and fat bobwhites: 24/7 Travel Stores take special care to cater to hunters participating in The Sunflower State’s ample upland  bounty … and once again, for the month of November, 24/7 is doing its part to give back to the future of upland wildlife habitat and upland hunting.

“Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever deeply value the partnership we have developed with 24/7 Travel Stores” says Jordan Martincich, director of development for PF/QF. “We thank the entire 24/7 Travel Stores team for their willingness to raise funds for our upland wildlife habitat conservation mission. This is third year for this instore fundraiser, and we hope that 24/7 Travel Store customers will again be inspired to give to our Kansas conservation and youth outreach efforts.”

“We’re excited too,” adds Ted Augustine, manager of growth & development for 24/7 Travel Stores. ‘‘It’s a lot of work to get this going every year, but it’s so vital to partner with PF/QF and support the upland habitat and hunting heritage missions. Once things get rolling, our staff gets really pumped about generating the funds for conservation. I think it’s going to be another big year for both bird hunting and fundraising.”

To date, the partnership has generated over $50,000 of vital support for Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever, with every dollar benefitting Kansas’s upland hunting tradition.

As you visit 24/7 Travel Stores in November, you will be presented with an opportunity to give to Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever at the point of purchase. These gifts can be made in the form of "rounding up" your purchase to the next dollar, or donating a specific dollar amount. “Gifts of all sizes make a difference,” says Martincich, “and every one is matched at a $3 to $1 ratio, then directed towards support of the PF/QF mission in Kansas.”

“24/7 Travel Store employees across the state have rallied around this cause and we can't thank them enough for their commitment to raising these critical funds,” says Martincich.

As for Augustine, he echoes the excitement for both the fundraising and the hunting. After a stint away from home, he’s back in Kansas for good. “My year-and-a-half old Brittany, named Blue, is ready to go,” he says. ‘’It’s going to be his first full season, and I can’t wait for that first point on a Kansas bobwhite … or maybe even a big old rooster. We’ll see you in the stores and let’s generate some more habitat for the birds, our bird dogs, and the future!”

As you travel across Kansas this November, stop in at any 24/7 Travel Store to make your food and fuel purchases, and to make a donation. You’re guaranteed a friendly greeting and a “Hunters Most Welcome Here” smile.
