Planning to expand upland hunting community and improve wildlife habitat
Quail Forever (QF) is proud to introduce the newest chapter in California. The North Valley Chapter of Quail Forever will cover Shasta, Tehama, Glenn, Butte and Colusa counties, with volunteers who are excited to bring together fellow bird dog lovers and conservationists to take on local habitat projects.
Unique among national conservation organizations, chapters of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever retain 100 percent decision-making control over fundraising dollars, allowing volunteers to support impactful wildlife habitat projects, public access initiatives and conservation education programs throughout the upland bird range. QF’s regional representative, Lauren Stamm, will work closely with the new chapter to support the organization’s vision to sustain abundant populations of wild quail, pheasants and other wildlife.
“I am wildly excited about this chapter,” Stamm said. “They’re exceptionally motivated and have some bigger scale ideas of how they can impact the Redding area upland habitat, and current and future generations of conservationists.”
This group is located in the heart of some of California’s best upland and waterfowl habitat. With a high population of hunters throughout this region, there is a lot of opportunity to rally communities behind a common goal – to conserve upland habitat. Moving forward, the volunteers hope to host dog-friendly meet-ups and Learn to Hunt events. This fall, the chapter will host a pint night open to anyone who is interested.
