The Arbuckle chapter aims to restore quail habitat and expand outdoor opportunities across south-central Oklahoma

Quail Forever (QF) is proud to announce the formation of the new Arbuckle Chapter based in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and serving Carter, Murray, and surrounding counties across south central Oklahoma. Formed by a passionate group of local conservationists, outdoorsmen, and community members, the chapter was created with a shared vision of restoring quail habitat and supporting conservation education, public access, and wildlife stewardship throughout the region.

Unique among national conservation organizations, chapters of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever retain 100 percent decision-making control over fundraising dollars, allowing volunteers to support impactful wildlife habitat project, public access initiatives, and conservation education programs throughout the upland bird range. QF’s Oklahoma and southern Kansas regional representative, Laura McIver, will work closely with the new chapter to support the organizations vision to sustain abundant populations of wild quail and other wildlife.

“The chapter holds great promise,” McIver said. “They are in the heart of several focal areas for Bobwhite quail and have a solid passion for wanting to save quail with better management practices, restoration and rehabilitation, and education and outreach. This chapter should be a lot of fun to watch grow in the community.”

As the chapter begins building its membership, volunteers also plan to attend local events such as Love County Frontier Days and the Sand Bass Festival to introduce the organization to the community and support future fundraising efforts.

“I am mostly looking forward to bringing together local like-minded individuals and organizations through education, collaboration, conservation advocacy, and service for a lasting positive impact on suitable bobwhite quail habitat and opportunities for public hunting and outdoor recreation in south central Oklahoma,” said Charlie Canny, chapter president.
