Two-year-old “Pongo” is Quail Forever member Ruben Mata’s German shorthaired pointer. “He’s always had a thing for birds, so he was introduced to them quickly. He’s had some amazing points and retrieves and has turned out to be a great bird dog,” Mata said. “Then I met some awesome people that turned out to be great friends from the Ventura County Chapter of Quail Forever and they took us under their wing. Very grateful to be a part of this club.”
