New Quail Forever Chapter in Illinois Hosts Inaugural Banquet April 1st

Upland hunters and conservationists in western Illinois are gathering this upcoming weekend to celebrate the inaugural banquet of the Brown County Chapter of Quail Forever. Motivated by the organization’s mission for wildlife habitat conservation efforts, local volunteers will utilize fundraising proceeds to positively impact quail habitat in their local communities.

“I would encourage local residents and those who are passionate about restoring bobwhite quail habitat in Illinois to help support the introductory banquet for the Brown County Chapter of Quail Forever,” stated Tim Caughran, director of field operations for Quail Forever. “With a heightened awareness for conservation efforts throughout the state, Illinois is ready to take a major leap in the right direction for wildlife thanks to the determination of groups like Brown County Quail Forever.”

Quail Forever partnered with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources in recent months to improve wildlife habitat within the state’s quail range on public and private lands as part of the Illinois Recreational Access Program. Additionally, Quail Forever is currently working to finalize partnerships with Ameren Corporation and the Illinois Department of Transportation to create partnership habitat projects on road and transmission line rights-of-way to increase wildlife cover throughout the state. The Brown County Chapter of Quail Forever hopes to capitalize on similar projects in the near future to make an impact in their local communities.
