Quail Forever’s Lamoreaux to Manage Oklahoma Biologist Partnerships as First State Coordinator

Quail Forever and its partners are pleased to announce the promotion of Dustin Lamoreaux as the first State Coordinator in Oklahoma. Lamoreaux will provide support and direction to a growing team of Farm Bill wildlife biologists while coordinating diverse partnerships to assist landowners in designing, developing and funding habitat improvements on private lands.  This unique partnership is made possible through collaboration with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the National Audubon Society – Conservation Ranching Program.

“We are beyond excited to have Dustin at the helm, leading our efforts to deliver habitat within the state of Oklahoma,” stated Chris McLeland, Quail Forever’s director of field operations for the South Region. “Dustin brings considerable experience working with farmers and ranchers to improve wildlife and pollinator habitats, as well as working with partners to help move conservation efforts forward within the state.”

Lamoreaux grew up exploring the high country of southwest Utah. After college, his passion for wildlife, hunting and the outdoors led him to New Mexico where he worked to help establish Lesser Prairie Chicken management efforts. Lamoreaux joined the Quail Forever team in 2013 as a Farm Bill wildlife biologist in Ohio before transferring to Colorado where he assisted ranchers with improvements for quail, pollinators and other upland species. In 2017, Lamoreaux was hired as the coordinating wildlife biologist within Oklahoma, assisting in the delivery of pollinator-specific programs with a focus on monarch butterfly recovery efforts.

Created in 2004, the Farm Bill Biologist Partnership has provided a valuable benefit across the country to landowners who are interested in voluntary conservation program enrollment. Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever biologists possess the knowledge of federal, state, and local programs to assist landowners in finding the right program to meet their personal habitat and land use goals.
