Quail Forever’s Marissa Jensen Promoted to Education and Outreach Program Manager on National Scale

Quail Forever is pleased to announce the promotion of Marissa Jensen as the organization’s Education and Outreach Program Manager. In this role, Jensen will be responsible for introducing new audiences of outdoorsmen, women, and youth to the organization’s hunting heritage, habitat education, shooting sports and conservation leadership programs in addition to acting as the lead advisor for the National Youth Leadership Council.

As one of Quail Forever’s organizational pillars, education and outreach remains a critical endeavor for preserving the nation’s outdoor heritage, hunters, license buyers and conservationists. As such, Jensen’s new role will focus on engaging the untapped potential of new hunters, developing the organization’s Women on the Wing initiative (workshops, events, new chapters and R3 strategies), coordinating the National Youth Leadership Council and representing Quail Forever at special events throughout the country.

“Amplifying our mission impact with individuals and communities’ ties back to executing the organization’s signature outdoor education programs, and no one is better-suited for this task than Marissa Jensen,” stated Rich Wissink, vice president of education and outreach for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever. “With an impressive track record of outdoor mentoring and communication, we’re excited for Marissa to take this next step with ‘The Habitat Organization.’”

An Omaha, Nebraska native, Jensen came to “The Habitat Organization” in 2018 when she was hired as the organization’s outreach and communications coordinator in Nebraska. Since that time, she has earned the respect of her colleagues and associates with a dedicated work ethic that earned her the Rookie of the Year Award at Quail Forever’s All-Team Meeting in the spring of 2019. As founder of the Nebraska Chapter of the Mayfly Project – designed to mentor at-risk youth through outdoor activities and fly fishing – and a regular contributor to many different outdoor publications including Project Upland and Trail Tales, Jensen is well-suited for her new role as part of the organization’s Education and Outreach Department. A licensed veterinarian technician by trade, biology major and wingshooter, Jensen is an all-around outdoorswoman.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to help educate and engage new and diverse audiences on a national scale,” expressed Marissa Jensen. “I look forward to sharing my love for outdoor education, conservation and the uplands with others to help them find their home within our organization."

As part of her duties, Jensen will help solidify the organization’s Women on the Wing initiative thanks to a recent $20K grant awarded from the National Shooting Sports Foundation. The funds will deliver local events designed to cultivate new sportswomen by providing a series of upland-oriented events that will take the participant through a progression of shooting skills, mentored hunting opportunities and then beyond the hunt with wild game cooking & land stewardship seminars.
