PHEASANTS FOREVER AND QUAIL FOREVER HIRE OSIER TO LEAD CONSERVATION EFFORTS IN KANSAS

Pheasants Forever, Quail Forever, and its partners are pleased to announce the hiring of Marina Osier as the new Kansas State Coordinator. Osier will work with Kansas-Natural Resources Conservation Service, Kansas Dept. of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, and other conservation partners to coordinate and lead Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s wildlife conservation efforts across the state.

Osier’s responsibilities will include overseeing Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s biologist partnership. Launched in 2004, the Farm Bill Biologist Partnership has provided a valuable benefit across the country to landowners who are interested in voluntary conservation program enrollment. Commonly referred to as the “One Stop Shop” for everything conservation or wildlife-related on private lands, Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever biologists possess the knowledge of federal, state, and local programs to assist landowners in finding the right conservation practice to meet their personal habitat and land use goals.

“Marina is an extremely talented biologist and has a proven track record of leading and delivering landscape level conservation efforts,” stated Chris McLeland, Quail Forever’s south region director. “I am thrilled to have Marina leading our team and our conservation efforts within the state of Kansas.”

Osier’s passion for private lands conservation began while she was pursuing her B.S. in Forestry at Iowa State University. After graduation., she obtained her M.S. in Biology at Georgia Southern University, focusing her studies on aquatic ecology. Seeking a return to the terrestrial world, she moved to southeast Colorado, where she has been serving as a Farm Bill biologist with Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever since 2016.

Having developed a deep appreciation for the conservation opportunities and challenges of the Southern Great Plains, Osier is excited to continue serving the landowners and conservation partners of Kansas. Osier will begin her new role on February 3, and will be based out of the USDA State Office located in Salina, KS. She can be reached at mosier@pheasantsforever.org.
