Minnesotan Evan Carruthers Elected to Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s National Board of Directors

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are pleased to announce the appointment of Evan Carruthers of Maple Plain, Minnesota, to its National Board of Directors. Carruthers, a chief investment officer and ardent land conservationist with a passion for upland wildlife, joins the 15-member board which meets quarterly and oversees the operations of Pheasants Forever, Inc. and Quail Forever.

“Engrained in the culture of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever as a land conservationist and a philanthropic supporter, the National Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Evan Carruthers as a new, participating voice,” stated Howard Vincent, president and CEO of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever. “Evan’s skillsets in business strategy and execution will help The Habitat Organization plan for a brighter future as we expand further into America’s pheasant and quail ranges.”

Evan Carruthers currently serves as the chief investment officer and managing partner of Castlelake, L.P., a global alternative investment firm co-founded by Carruthers in 2005. He is responsible for Castlelake's global investment strategy and its execution across all asset classes, as well as guiding the firm’s relationship-driven approach and overseeing all investment teams.
 
Formerly, Carruthers was an investment manager with Cargill Value Investment (CVI), responsible for corporate and asset-based investments in North America and the development of Cargill’s global aircraft investing business. Prior to joining CVI, Carruthers worked in several capacities at Piper Jaffray. He received his B.A. from the University of St. Thomas in business administration, with a specialty in finance.
 
Carruthers sits on the Board of Directors of Brazilian renewable energy platform Ibitu Energia, publicly listed companies Five Point Holdings, LLC, the largest owner and developer of mixed-use, master-planned communities in coastal California, and Aedas Homes, S.A.U., one of the largest homebuilders in Spain. He also serves in leadership roles at various nonprofit organizations focused on wildlife conservation, including the Board of Directors of the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust and the Guides Trust Foundation. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Minnesota Orchestra, and a Pheasants Forever Gold Patron Member.
 
Carruthers is an enthusiastic upland bird hunter and active conservationist who manages several wildlife properties in western Minnesota.
