The Habitat Organization is proud to introduce the newest development officer, Charlie Schoenherr. In his new role, Schoenherr will be responsible for collaborating with donors, members, volunteers and partners to expand private, corporate and public funding relationships benefiting upland habitat conservation.
“Charlie is a passionate upland bird hunter, conservationist and avid outdoor enthusiast,” said Jake Hanson, Pheasant Forever and Quail Forever’s director of development. “He has a strong network of connections through his background in education, outdoor industry sales and professional guiding in the backcountry. We’re very excited to have Charlie join our team and inspire generosity towards our habitat mission in the Rocky Mountain states.”
Building a strong culture of philanthropy among Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever constituents is a top priority, which includes but is not limited to – leadership gifts and major gifts, charitable bequests, corporate philanthropy, gifts of real estate and conservation easements, endowments and grant funding. Schoenherr will take on responsibilities tied directly to Pheasants Forever’s and Quail Forever’s vision for the future of upland habitat, made possible in part by expanded philanthropic support inspired by a robust team of fundraising professionals.
Before joining the team, Schoenherr owned and operated his own guided fly-fishing business, Black Dog River Guides. Additionally, he gained digital marketing and strategic planning experience by working for Backbone Media, and he has spent time working in education through Denver Public Schools. Schoenherr holds a bachelor’s degree in multidisciplinary studies from Texas Tech University.
“Working with conservation-minded individuals has been a dream of mine since my first upland hunting experiences in college,” Schoenherr said. “I look forward to working alongside our supporters in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.”
