Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Appoint Suzanne Anglewicz to Manager of Government Affairs

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are proud to announce Suzanne Anglewicz has been hired as the organization’s manager of government affairs (state affairs and grassroots). In this newly created role, Anglewicz will focus on developing and executing state affairs and grassroots activities, including direct lobbying, coalition building and advocacy communication across the upland range.

“Promoting efficient and effective conservation policy at the state level is imperative to maintaining healthy ecosystems for not only upland birds, but all wildlife,” said Ron Leathers, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s chief conservation officer. “Suzanne’s experience makes her uniquely qualified to have a major impact at that level, and we welcome her knowledge as we continue to advance our habitat mission across the country.”

In her new role as PF & QF’s first-ever dedicated state government affairs lead, Anglewicz will hone in on key conservation and hunting access policy issues with state legislators and agency decision-makers, and will provide strategic direction and oversight of political engagement by state-level staff members. She will also create and implement online and in-person grassroots advocacy activities throughout the year, working closely with PF & QF’s chapters, members, volunteers and supporters across the country.

Anglewicz comes to the Habitat Organization from the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action, where she served as the manager of field operations, grassroots division. While there, she managed a nationwide team to advance the organization’s political, legislative and grassroots agendas. She previously served as their manager of political and legislative affairs and research attorney.

Additionally, Anglewicz has worked on various federal and state political campaigns as well as served as a law clerk and constitutional law legal research associate in Washington, D.C. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political theory and constitutional democracy from Michigan State University, and has also received a Juris Doctor with a concentration in constitutional law from Thomas M. Cooley Law School of Michigan. An avid hunter, conservationist, and certified firearm safety instructor, Anglewicz is happy to be living back in her home state of Michigan enjoying all of the many outdoor opportunities across the Upper Midwest. When not traveling for work, she enjoys all things Great Lakes — visiting U.S. National Parks, and her beloved Detroit sports teams.

“I’m eager to utilize my political advocacy and grassroots experience in support of hunting and conservation policy,” she said. “As someone passionate about the outdoors, hunting, and conservation, I’m excited to be part of a growing team dedicated to expanding on-the-ground efforts to preserve, protect, and promote our hunting heritage. The new opportunities ahead to maximize the outreach of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever at the state and grassroots levels is exciting for all that support conservation, and I cannot wait to get started on these important and impactful efforts. "
