Missouri Gains First Quail Forever Women on the Wing Chapter

Quail Forever (QF) is proud to introduce the first Women on the Wing Chapter in Missouri. The Show Me Women on the Wing Chapter of Quail Forever will serve all 114 counties across the state, encouraging girls and women of all ages and experience levels to participate in chapter events and engage in local conservation efforts.

Unique among national conservation organizations, chapters of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever retain 100 percent decision-making control over fundraising dollars, allowing volunteers to support impactful wildlife habitat projects, public access initiatives and conservation education programs throughout the upland bird range. Quail Forever’s northern Missouri regional representative, Ayden Carey, will work closely with the new chapter to support the organization’s vision to sustain abundant populations of wild pheasants, quail and other wildlife.

“We’re incredibly fortunate in Missouri to have 30 active chapters across the state,” said Katy Hulsey, QF’s Missouri program support specialist. “Adding a new chapter focused on enhancing outdoor access for women and contributing to putting more habitat on the landscape is truly an honor.”

Hulsey leads the chapter alongside Kirstin Gundel, QF’s Missouri education and outreach coordinator. They plan to provide events and activities for women from all backgrounds to connect with like-minded peers and engage more fully with their passions. The number of women interested in conservation and the outdoors is increasing, and this group will offer them opportunities to be involved.

The chapter plans to host a variety of events in the future, including habitat education workshops and women’s hunting weekends. Additionally, they aim to partner with other Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever chapters in Missouri when planning events.
