Despite drought, fires, and frigid winter conditions in some areas, quail prospects for the coming season are still good across much of the country.
Quail counts are down in the Cormhusker State, but birds can still be found in areas with good habitat.
Although winter conditions may have reduced breeding season numbers, ongoing habitat work will continue to pay off in the long run.
