ABOUT quail Forever

In 1982, a group of pheasant hunters saw the connection between upland habitat loss and declining pheasant populations. An organization dedicated to wildlife habitat conservation was needed, and Pheasants Forever was formed. Pheasants Forever’s mission work quickly garnered it a reputation as “The Habitat Organization,” a tagline the nonprofit conservation group uses proudly to this day. In 2005, in response to continued declines in quail populations and suitable quail habitat, Pheasants Forever formed a quail division, Quail Forever.

Quail Forever's mission is to conserve quail, pheasants, and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public access, education, and conservation advocacy.

OUR UNIQUE CHAPTER MODEL

Unique among national conservation organizations, chapters of Quail Forever retain 100 percent decision-making control over their locally-raised funds. This allows chapter volunteers to develop wildlife habitat projects and conduct youth conservation events in their communities, while belonging to a national organization with a voice regarding state and federal conservation policy.

Quail Forever and Pheasants Forever host more than 750 fundraising events annually, most commonly annual chapter banquets. These banquets are an important source of revenue and provide chapters with the funds needed to accomplish thousands of wildlife habitat projects annually.

Only your annual $35 membership, which funds Quail Forever’s award-winning magazine, professional services of regional biologists and representatives, our national conservation education programs and state and federal legislative advocacy, is forwarded to the national office. Find your local chapter here.

OUR VISION

It’s Quail Forever’s vision that current and future generations of hunters and conservationists are able to enjoy abundant populations of wild quail, pheasants and other wildlife.

Wildlife habitat faces monumental challenges in an ever-changing world. Agricultural expansion, a growing population, water wars, urban sprawl and oil and mineral exploration are all threats to the habitats quail, pheasants and other wildlife call home. If there are to be places for wildlife going forward, we’ll have to work harder, be more creative, and build more partnerships than ever before.

Our advantage today is more people than ever care about wildlife, which also makes it a time of opportunity. There’s room for wildlife habitat on every farm and ranch to better protect our natural resources and to leave uplands and wetlands for future generations to enjoy.
