Join Us, February 16-18

Andy Edwards, Quail Forever Program Manager

In just a few weeks, the Quail Forever team is participating in multiple events in conjunction with the longstanding wildlife event known affectionately as “SEWE.” The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE) will be held over President’s Day weekend, Feb. 16-18th in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. The event has multiple venues, both indoors and out, throughout historic Charleston. Activities range from sporting dog demonstrations to art shows to fundraisers and all things in between.

The Lowcountry Chapter of Quail Forever kicks off the fun on Friday night, Feb. 16th, with the “Bobwhite Boogie II”.

“These folks know how to party and raise funds for a great cause!” says Kenny Barker, QF Regional Representative for SC, GA, and FL. “Wonderful food, prizes, auctions items, generous chapter sponsors, and a dance floor are the keys to their success. We appreciate what they are doing and look forward to joining in on the fun!”

Quail Forever is proud to be a participant in the “Quail Village” at Brittlebank Park for the 4th consecutive year. The Quail Village is hosted by our friends at the South Carolina DNR and is the place to be if you love pursuing our favorite gamebird.

Our South Carolina QF Chapter will be raising funds to support the management of our Bobwhite Hills Build A Wildlife Area project in South Carolina.

Also in the Quail Village will be QF partners like the Longleaf Alliance, South Carolina Prescribed Fire Council, South Carolina Bobwhite Initiative, OnX, Upland Gun Company, Tom Beckbe, Jon Kohler & Associates, Sporting Dog groups and more! This group of exhibitors is dedicated to reversing the decline of the bobwhite quail populations and hopes to inspire property owners and managers, conservationists, and wildlife enthusiasts to be a part of this once-in-a-generation challenge.

This year marks several “firsts” for QF at SEWE. QF staff will be conducting a special membership drive in association with our friends Magnolia Loom. This membership package will include a custom QF t-shirt. These 100% cotton shirts are grown, manufactured, and sewn in the Southeast. We’ll be under the big tent at Brittlebank Park with screen printing presses on site so you can choose your shirt color and design and support QF’s mission all at the same time.

We will wrap up the weekend with our first ever Bobwhite Brunch hosted at SEWE. Our friends at Rivers and Glen will be hosting an exclusive, invite-only brunch where participants will enjoy a complimentary brunch and bloody mary bar, while mingling with other passionate conservationists. Guests will meet Quail Forever leadership, including President & CEO Marilyn Vetter, and learn about the organization’s habitat conservation efforts in South Carolina and across the country.

If you are in the Lowcountry in mid-February, or if you are looking for a good excuse to roll into Charleston, be sure to come see all the awesome QF events and conservation opportunities at the 2024 Southeastern Wildlife Exposition.
